- EGA BACKGAMMON
-
- This document is not intended as an instruction booklet on the
- game of backgammon. There are many good backgammon books available
- at any local bookstore. If you have at least a basic knowlodge of the
- game you should have no problem with this version.

- To play this version will require that you have either a EGA or VGA
- graphics card and a microsoft compatible mouse.
-
- When you first run the program CLICK LEFT MOUSE BUTTON on the
- INFO block, this will provide you with all the information you will need
- to play the game. Below is a reproduction of the INFO screen. GOOD LUCK.

- INFO : This Information screen, PRESS RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON to EXIT
-
- UNDO : Click LEFT BUTTON here to backup one move, This will work
- Until the last move was made in this dice throw.
-
- LEVEL : Click LEFT BUTTON here to SELECT LEVEL 1 or 2.
-
- DOUBLE: Click LEFT BUTTON here when you wish to double the worth of the game.
- The Doubling cube is in the upper left corner, when the cube is
- all green, either player can double. When one player has doubled
- the border on the cube will change to the other player's color
- This player then has exclusive rights to the cube.

- PLAYER: Click LEFT BUTTON here to SELECT 1 or 2 PLAYER game.
-
- PASS : Click LEFT BUTTON here when you can not make a play,
- You will not be allowed to PASS if you still have a play.
-
- COUNT : This is a number based on the position of you and the other
- Players men. Useful when deciding to double or accept a double.
- A BOX in the upper left corner will be displayed with both yours,
- and the other players count.

- SOUND : If this is in WHITE sound is ON, BLUE sound is OFF.
-
- HELP : If this command is in WHITE then markers are displayed when you
- select a man to move. ie; if the dice rolled a 6 and a 2
- then when you picked up a man to move you would see markers
- 6 places and 2 places from the mans original position.
- For those of us who have trouble counting.

- REPLAY: Click LEFT BUTTON here to restart the game.

- PLAYING: When it is your turn and you have the option of doubling, the
- dice will not ROLL untill you either DOUBLE or CLICK the RIGHT
- MOUSE BUTTON. Once the DICE have rolled put the HAND on the man
- you wish to move and DRAG him to the location you wish to move
- to, and release the LEFT button, (See HELP above). Each DIE will
- change from RED to MAGENTA as it is used. When you are ready to
- Remove men from the playing field DRAG them past the left hand side
- of the board.

- To start the game TYPE egagam <ENTER>, there will be a slight delay while
- the game sets up.
- When you quit the game, there will be a Shareware message displayed.
- Registered users will be informed how to disable this message.
